There are a lot of myths about email marketing. Many designers and business owners frown when they hear this word. Others say that it is a waste of time and resources, and email-marketing won’t bring any results.

In this article, I’d like to tell you key reasons why you need email-marketing if you are an owner of a fashion online boutique.

Reason #1 – Email marketing gives an opportunity to communicate with your client directly

What does it mean directly? Just think about it. What is a person’s most confidential information? First, of course, is your social security number, then your banking information, your address, your phone number and finally your email. When you receive client’s email address, it means that you get access to their private life.

You may argue that many people have a separate email address for the promo letters. However, according to statistics, only 10% of people do that. The rest provide their email address used on a daily basis.

If you just send emails about your promotions, there is no personal approach. And then what? Yes, your letter is marked as spam right away.

Yes, that’s right. Although, many people ignore this opportunity when sending out template letters that are not brand aligned. However, every single email presents a chance to tell your customer about you, your business, why you started it, and what makes you different from others.

Research shows that roughly 60% of people open the first welcome-email. This is the moment to introduce your brand and do something extraordinary that your customers won’t forget.  Next time they will remember, and the chance they read your email increase significantly.

Reason #4 – Email marketing has a higher conversion rate compared to social media

This is official statistics. The email-marketing conversion rate is three times higher than social media.

Perhaps, this has something to do with the fact that 77% of customers want to receive advertisement and promotions through email. And only 16% want to see ads in social media. It’s difficult to argue with statistics.

Plus, it is easy to explain this with simple psychology. People use social media to socialize and entertain themselves, not to watch commercials. When we provide our email addresses – subconsciously we agree to receive the advertisement.

Reason #5 – Email marketing makes your Facebook ads way more effective

This one is simple. You can automatically synchronize your Facebook ads with your email segments. It means that not only you can send emails now, but also show personalized advertising messages to your customers depending on their behavior.
